Newsclick travelled to Manipur to visit the families of the eight boys from the state selected to represent India. We witnessed, firsthand, the pride and excitement the parents are feeling despite the economic hardship most of them face on a daily basis. Many told us they would not even be able to travel to Delhi to watch their sons play this major tournament. Former India midfielder Renedy Singh was accompanying us on the visits and immediately got to work securing the funds needed by the families to make their small dream a reality.
