The government has been depending on the US economy for job opportunities rather than building it in India itself.

According to media reports, there have been massive job cuts in the IT sector. Kiran Chandra from Forum for IT Professionals, talked to Newsclick about the issue. According to him, one of the reasons for this retrenchment is automation in IT industry. The global leaders, especially U.S, have started adopting a protectionist policy for their countries. As a result, they are also altering the way jobs are outsourced to India. The third important reason for this is the policy paralysis which has been stuck in India for the last three decades. The government has been depending on the US economy for job opportunities rather than building it in India itself.
