Situation in West Asia Fluid

Newsclick in conversation with Aijaz Ahmad, senior political analyst, discusses the developments in West Asia, the present scenario in Syria and Iran's negotiations with the P5+1 countries on the nuclear issue. Ahmad feels that the situation is very fluid in West Asia. Geneva 2 is not likely to happen in the near future. The Israeli-Saudi scenario indicates that since they are losing in Syria, they now want to expand the war into Lebanon. They think that the way to pin down Syria, Hezbollah and Iran is to activate the battlefield in Lebanon. Ahmad also says that the defeat of Muslim Brotherhood in Turkey has brought about what appears to be a sea-change in Turkish policy. They are now supporting the American initiative in the nuclear talks with Iran.
